Tired New World, painted in 2022, emerged as a luminous highlight of Paco Pomet’s solo exhibition Siguiente Pantalla at My Name’s Lolita Art Gallery. Created in the shadow of lockdowns still lingering in collective memory, the painting resonated deeply, echoing the solitude and surreal beauty of a world turned inward.

At the time of the exhibition, writer and curator Saša Bogojev shared his interpretation of the work, offering insight into its symbolism and emotional depth:

"Swathed in glowing purple, the domestic scene features a moon sitting alone in a room (cause "the moon is always alone," as the artist told me), while the sun and the clouds are sitting together in the living room, with the relaxed rainbow lounging between them as their direct result. And while each of these sentiments are both factual and meaningful, Pomet delivers them in a format of a big beautiful lie that becomes a poetic metaphor for our recent shared experience."

A print of Tired New World, meticulously crafted by master printmaker Christian M. Walter, was released in 2023 here on House of Pomet as part of a special edition set accompanying the book Celestial.
