Ménage à trois
Limited Edition Print, 2021

In September 2021, Paco Pomet traveled to Paris to collaborate with Atelier Clot, one of Europe’s most storied lithographic studios. Founded in 1896 by master printer Auguste Clot — who worked with luminaries such as Degas and Toulouse-Lautrec — the atelier has welcomed generations of renowned artists, including Cézanne, Renoir, Munch, Matisse, and Calder. Pomet’s time at the studio marked his first foray into lithography, aligning him with a long-standing tradition of painters exploring the expressive possibilities of printmaking.
During his residency, Pomet worked closely with Atelier Clot’s master printers to produce two lithographs. Among them was Ménage à trois, based on a 2020 painting of the same name. Reinterpreted through the lithographic process, the work preserves Pomet’s signature tension between humor, surrealism, and social critique, while gaining the nuanced tonal range and material presence unique to stone lithography.
Both Ménage à trois and a second print, Liberté, Fraternité, Égalité, were released in editions of 120.
