The image, based on an original oil based pencil drawing that sits in printer Christian M. Walter’s personal collection, takes its name from a biblical monster, noted in theology and mythology.

Pomet, known for unexpected juxtaposition in his work, uses the title of this multi-headed creature with serpent limbs as an entry point to play on the contrast between the representation of a powerful enemy and the apparent innocence of children at play.
