Alumbramiento

Limited Edition Print, 2022

  • Released in late 2022 to coincide with the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons, Alumbramiento (or Birth) marked master printer Christian M. Walter’s first foray into digital printing. The result was a resounding success, with the powerful image quickly resonating with audiences and generating unprecedented demand both on his own website and here at House of Pomet.

One of the most distinctive features of Alumbramiento is the inclusion of the canvas edges within the composition itself—an inventive detail that adds not only a striking sense of depth but also a subtle layer of commentary. It blurs the line between digital print and painted canvas, reinforcing the tension between creation and destruction at the heart of the image.

Enhanced by two layers of varnish, the central explosion radiates with vivid intensity, giving the piece a luminous, almost tactile quality. Bold, provocative, and impeccably crafted, Alumbramiento has already secured its place as a modern classic.
