In 2019, the iconic Spanish publisher Anagrama celebrated its 50th anniversary with the Compactos collection—fifty titles chosen by bookstores, each featuring specially commissioned illustrations to mark the occasion.

Paco Pomet was selected to create the cover for On the Road by Jack Kerouac, a landmark novel widely regarded as one of the most important works of twentieth-century literature.

Set in the aftermath of the Second World War, On the Road follows Sal Paradise’s restless journey across America—a search for meaning, freedom, and authenticity in a time of growing cultural restraint. Kerouac captures the wild impulse to head west, to chase the fading promise of the American Dream before the sun sets on an era.
